A happy coincidence brought Beate Gaschler in my life, and this was Rose Fiedler

It’s been a while since our photo shooting, but now is the right time to show you her pictures!

She is a passionate nutritionist, personal shopping assistant and someone who gets to the bottom of the matter: Live Your Food. Everything revolves around food – healthy food-, health and enjoying life! She contacted me because she needed some more pictures for her website and especially pictures of herself. All in all I was there for over 3 hours, she showed me around, explained the meaning of grocery and I learned so much from her, like from no one before! Everything she knows based on intensive research, trying out things and discovering new things. Talking to her makes you realize how important food is and how little we care about it.

At the moment the wedding season is at its peak and I barely find the time to take some time for myself and go out to just take pictures without any reason and just for fun. That’s why I was actually glad about the fact that my couple ran late… It was just beautiful, the scenery the two chose for our photo session – in the middle of Tübingen…!

I enjoyed it so much walking through these fields of flowers, smell it and feel it and I could not stop taking pictures.

It was the perfect job variation, instead of sitting in front of the computer all the time.

And now go out and enjoy the sun! This is the weather we all were desperately looking for the last months!

Thier wedding date was the 1st of June 2013 – the date with the most requests ever! Luckily Daniela & Fabian booked me over more than a year beforehand, because this date was the most coveted this year!
You sure remember these two from our Engagement-Shooting in Edinburgh last october and now the wedding day finally arrived.

Weather-wise we all expected something less rainy – but you have to adapt to the given situation… And by rain I am not talking about a little spray, but pouring continuous rain. I am not sure if I ever experienced such a weather. Our motto was: “everyone can deal with sunshine…”

The marriage ceremony was held by Sabine John in the La Paz Hofgut Domäne in Hechingen, who had to rearrange everything due to the weather. It was a very moving ceremony: Sabine’s speech, Daniela and Fabians self written vows for each other, the rain that got heavier and heavier…. Everything was perfect!

Fortunately the day before the wedding the two booked an hour at the Castle Hohenzollern for the photoshooting, because otherwise we would have had a big problem to find a place to photoshoot… Everyone at the castle knew that we were coming and so we got a private tour through the castle and we were allowed to go (almost ) everywhere, no one’s normally allowed to go. It was a challenge regarding lightning conditions, but luckily I got two great assistants

When we got back, it was time for dinner and the evening part begun. We had a great atmosphere, our photobooth was non-stop in use and later in the evening the two newlyweds prepared a surprise for each other. Like Fabian drove Adrian Winkler all the way from Munich, to sing the opening dance for them live. Daniela on the other hand organized some fireworks to surprise her new husband and unbelievably it stopped to rain, so that we all could enjoy it outside.

As you can see there were a lot of things going on this wedding and we were lucky to be a part of it!

Dear Daniela, dear Fabian, thank you very much for everything we experienced together!

When we look back to this Engagement-Shooting we did at the end of April, we got very lucky with the weather. The timing was perfect, because not only the sun was shining but also the magnolias were in full blossom! So, we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon, while taking pictures, and talked about the wedding while drinking a cup of coffee…

Meanwhile these two are already married and had a great party…. but I will talk about that in one of my next blog entries

The weather on Jenny & Sven’s wedding day could not have been better! After days of hoping and praying we were rewarded with pure sunshine.

In the morning Ron dropped me off at the Breuningerland Sindelfingen before he drove on to Herrenberg, where the groom was about to get ready. That’s the good thing of working in a team: one of us can stay with the bride, while the other one is with the groom. So I went upstairs to the Les Coiffeurs, where the bride, her sister and her mom were getting styled for the big day. It is always exciting, because you wait for such a long time and plan so much for this one day to make it special and then it is finally there: the wedding day! It was nice to see how Jenny turned into a bride and how even the last bit of tension vanished the moment Jenny & Sven saw each other for the first time as bride and groom.
Happily reunited it was time to get married!!!

It was a great wedding day with a relaxed atmosphere, laughing faces everywhere and happy guests that hadn’t seen each other for a long time. We enjoyed the weather very much and the location was perfect for wedding portraits. The moment I saw the blue sky, the wedding car, the green fields, the balloons and my absolutely relaxed and happy couple, I knew that the pictures would turn out great!

With his 10 days he was already observing everything that happened around him, especially where this strange, unknown “click”-sound comes from

Every time I see such a small little person reminds me of a quote of Pablo Picasso:

“A baby will make love stronger,

days shorter,

nights longer,

bankroll smaller,

home happier,

clothes shabbier,

the past forgotten,

and the future worth living for.”

Like this engagement-shooting for example: the closer the date the worse the weather forecast got. Actually I expected their phone call to postpone the shooting every minute, but I didn’t got any call. They said to themselves that they will not be able to change the weather on their wedding day, or rather change the date, so let’s take it as a chance and see the outcome – if we will like these pictures how much are we going to love our wedding picutres then!

What I am telling you by that is, that the weather does not the reason not to get any good pictures. You have to be creative and to try out new things! There are always things and possibilities to use and to make the best of it!

It was a great morning and I am more than happy to photograph your wedding!

This movie was completely filmed and cut together on an iPhone – which makes it very special to us. I am quite proud of Ron and what he made out of all our video clips!

It is a video about our bike tour on the 1st of May. Together with friends and family we rode from one festivity to another

Honestly it felt good not to check Facebook & Co. every morning as soon as I started the computer to see what’s new and what the others do. I got the feeling, that I  could miss out on something, if I don’t check Facebook every 20 minutes. Well, that made me realize, that I have to step back… and …. it worked! And… I felt good about it. I still got in touch with everyone I care about, which is the most important thing.

Of course I must say that all the social media is an enormous advantage for me and my work and I am glad to be a part of it.

Within the last weeks we spent a lot of time with our families and our friends, traveled around and kept on working on new projects.

Here’s a short summery of the last couple of weeks ….

All the time I show you pictures of couples, families, kids…. That’s what made me realize that I never took portrait picutres of my own family – and that needed to be changed.

So, my father and I arranged a birthday present for my mother including breakfast, all-inclusive wellness-treatment and make up and took this opportunity to make a few portrait picutres of my parents. I got exactly 5 minutes before they started saying, that this should be enough now That’s the destiny of a photographer, but you have to take your chances and make the best out of it.

In March I had a trainee for one week. Acutally there were two of them, but one was with Franziska Molina and the other stayed with me. They are two best friends who wanted to get an impression and learn more about photography.
It was a completely new challenge for me. Of course I wanted to teach her as much as I could but at the same time I had to get my own work done.

At the beginning I was not so sure about taking a trainee, but the two of them kept contacting us and after having met them in person, we decided to give them the chance. The thing I liked most about them, was that they had their goal in mind and did everything to make this happen. I am the same, if I have a dream, I try everything to make it happen and it felt good to be a part of their dream

Here is a message for everyone out there who has a dream: Go for it! Make your dreams come true! And if it does not work out the way you imagined, does not matter, because at least you tried!

Well that is my motto.

Next stop was Munich!

And I love Munich! Not only because of the city and its great flair, but especially because this is where some very special friends live!!!

The reason for my trip to Munich was the birth of Moritz. Maybe you have already seen his pictures: Welcome, Moritz!

It was such a great weekend. It all started by traveling there by train. It is always very relaxing to go somewhere with the train. You can either enjoy the landscape, listen to some music, read a book or sleep. Thekla, my very best friend, was already waiting for me to take me to a very nice café in Westend where we stayed and talked for the next three hours.

After that I went to Unterföhring to visit Bojana – also a very special person to me! Some of you might know her from my blog of from TV. I haven’t seen her and her husband for a very  long time and got the chance to visit them in their new home. It was such an amazing evening chatting with them over a glas of wine.

On Sunday morning it was time to meet Moritz…. you already know the rest

I could do that every week….

Another highlight was our trip to Heidelberg. Together with Katrin & Sandra from Weddingsam we made an excursion to visit Thingsstätte and had a lot of fun – as usual when we are together

We can highly recommend you to go there, because it is a very fascinating area with a great view over Heidelberg.

After that we stoped at our favourite restaurant in Heidelberg: Mandy’s. A dream for everyone who likes the 50ties, American Style and great hamburgers!

One of my projects was together with  Rose Fiedler - my favourite artist!

She once told me about all the decoration stuff she stores in the basement and we figured out, that somebody might be interested in renting it for a celebration. That is why we created a sweet candy table, to show how it could look like.

So if anyone is interested in renting any of this let her know! She is very excited for everyone interested!

And then they finally arrived!!! Our visitors from the USA! Ron’s mom and her husband came to Germany for vacation for 3 weeks. It has been exactly three years since her last visit and we couldn’t wait to see her and her husband again.
They spent a lot of time in Mannheim, where Monika originally comes from. Of course we drove up several times to see them and to spent time with them and then they came with us to Stuttgart for one week.

The first thing we did was going to the Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest and drink a Maß Bier. We had a lot of fun there!

Then we had a BBQ at my parents house and enjoyed a relaxing day off

To show them a little bit of Europe we all decided to head towards the mountains. Our first stop was Berchtesgaden and the Royal lake. We got very lucky with the weather, after all the rain and cold.
There we made a boat trip and enjoyed the silence and the beautiful nature.

The next morning we drove on to Vienna. None of us has been there before, so we thought it would be nice to visit it together. We were very excited about what we would see in Vienna. First thing we did after arriving to Vienna: we made a city tour with the carriage. This is something very special in Vienna and it was great to get a first impression of the city with all its historical buildings everywhere.

We saw a lot, we walked a lot and we enjoyed the city very much – we will definitely come back!

After 4 days mini vacation we got back home. Because of the sunny weather I took the chance to make some portrait pictures of Monika and Brad. We went to Stuttgart city, enjoyed the sun, went shopping and make a walk through the parks.

Dear Monika, dear Brad, thank you for these wonderful days we spent together! We hope that you got back home safely.
